Why Are Jews so Successful in Science, Maths, and Business?
In the sciences, Jews have won 22 percent of all the Nobel Prizes ever awarded – 29 percent of the prizes since 1950, after the Holocaust destroyed a third of their numbers. Given their small population, Jews should have earned only one of the 502 Nobels awarded for physics, chemistry, medicine and physiology. They have won 123.
The Fields Medal, awarded to the world’s brightest mathematicians under age 40, is the honor John Nash, of the book and movie A Beautiful Mind had hoped to win. Instead, he took a Nobel Prize in economics as a consolation prize. One-fourth of the Fields Medals winners are Jews.

The Chinese Want to Know the “Secrets of the Jews”
[At larger Beijing bookstores] we found entire sections devoted to books about Jews. Most of the books focused on finance, such as 16 Reasons for Jews Getting Wealthy by Chu Ke; The Secret of Talmud: The Jewish Code of Wealth by Jiao Yiyang; and Secret of Jewish Success: Ten Commandments of Jewish Success by Li Huizhen.

His most recent publications are cartoon books for children about Jewish wisdom and the Talmud.
Another popular book is The 101 Business Secrets in Jews’ Notebook by Zhu Xin Yue. It suggests that the Jews’ systematic experience and knowledge are part of their secret for creating wealth. In addition, Jews are born with the ability to make money.
… In his blog post “Why are Jews so clever?” Gao Feng suggests that diet and “fetal education” are keys to Jewish success. He notes that “all Jews firmly believe when meat and fish are mixed together, it will do harm to their body.” __

Meanwhile, Russia has been losing its geniuses and Jews for many years due to pogroms, mindless prejudice, and lack of opportunity:

According to the paper, each of the mathematicians of Russian origin who have been awarded a Fields Medal — an honor regarded as the equivalent of the Nobel Prize for mathematics — have permanent positions in the West. As Russia loses its talented few, the plight of all Russians is worsening.

And there are pressures that risk pushing inflation higher again, including the ruble’s latest losses and bans on Turkish products such as fruit and vegetables after Turkey’s military shot down a Russian warplane near the Syrian border.

There are no Jewish secrets. Wearing a funny skullcap or eating gefilte fish is useless. It’s polynucleotides.
High intelligence is an Ashkenazi thing. Sephardim and Mizrahi are not that exceptional. I recall Lynn giving 99 as the Sephardim average IQ and 93 as the Mizrahi IQ but look it up.
Tell it to the Chinese, Jim, they are the ones with all the superstitious beliefs about “Jewish Secrets!” It would be funny if not for the fact that superstitions in China and Russia could easily lead to large scale wars.
You probably understand that it is not only the average IQ that matters, but also the variance and degree / direction of skew in the distribution. It is the “smart fraction” that propels meaningful innovation in modern societies. And Jews happen to find themselves in that smart fraction, as measured by Nobel Prizes, Fields Medals, and virtually any other measure of accomplishment — far out of proportion to their absolute numbers in a population.
Richard Lynn, reviewing earlier IQ studies on Jews, in 2011 described the measured average IQs of the different groups:[1]
Ashkenazi Jews: 110
Sephardi Jews: 98
Mizrahi Jews: 91
Ethiopian Jews: 68
Ashkenazi Jews score relatively higher on verbal/mathematical subtests than on spatial subtests. This is reflected in Ashkenazi Jews having performed relatively worse in areas such as visual arts, architecture, and engineering. Overall average IQ in Israel is adversely affected by the Arab population, of course.
The division into particular sub-classifications of Jews creates the potential for many misconceptions and classification errors.
As far as the coming age of human speciation and divergence of human sub-species, we haven’t seen anything yet. Just wait until gene hacking begins to hit its stride. Chinese labs are moving ahead in this area due to a desperate national will to dominate — and the belief that a genetically superior population may be the quickest route to domination. What they do not perhaps understand, is that the ruling classes of China are almost certain to be overturned by the type of disruptive change they are unwittingly unleashing. And the new China, such as it is, will almost certainly go to war with its neighbors.
Well, the Jews the Chinese have had the most direct contact with were the Iraqi Jews and their success in Asia produced much of the Chinese stereotypes on Jews. Much of Shanghai was built by Iraqi Jews. Look up families like the Sassoons and Kadoories. 12 Sephardi Jews have won Nobel Prizes, a far higher proportion than ethnic Asians and Europeans win for their numbers. The truth is Sephardi/Mizrahi Jews are successful and outperform Asians and whites in every country they settle in. The long history of Sephardi Jewry in Netherlands, Britain and United States attests to this. The difference is most of the poor went to Israel and that’s where the IQ studies are drawn from. Plus they aren’t a single culture unlike Ashkenazis – Yemenite Jews are probably not that smart, and therefore bring down the overall Mizrahi IQ in Israel, where they possibly make up a majority of Israeli Mizrahim. Iraqi Jews are very smart though, as are Persian Jews (look at the Persian Jewish community in LA and NY).
Note that Lynn’s scores are based on taking the UK average IQ to be 100 which gives 98 for the US average. To adjust Lynn’s scores to a scale based on a US average of 100 one should add 2 points to Lynn’s scores, giving 112,100, and 93 for Ashkenazi, Sephardi, and Mizrahi respectively. I think Israeli Arab average IQ is about 89.
Nothing is so neat in the real world, of course. Israel is an incredibly innovative country for its size, and it is not because of its Arabs…. or its Ethiopian Jews.
For a perennially besieged nation to survive, it must have its smart guys, its creative guys, its tough guys, its working guys, and its cannon fodder. Decide for yourself which Israeli sub-population constitutes the majority of which category.
