More Good News from LA County CoV Surveillance

True Fatality Rate Looks Far Lower than Claimed by Alarmists

An estimated 221,000 adults to 442,000 adults at the high end may have been infected at some point before April 9 with COVID-19, suggesting that the number of total people in the county with a past or current infection is 28 to 55 times higher than the number of reported positive cases, Dr. Barbara Ferrer, L.A. County’s public health director said Monday.

“Although I report every day that we have thousands of thousands of people that have tested positive, the serology testing lets us know that we have hundreds of thousands of people that have already developed antibodies to the virus because at some point in time over the last couple of months, they have in fact been infected with COVID-19,” Ferrer said.

But having up to that many people who may have already had the illness means that the fatality rate from the virus is much lower than originally believed, Neeraj Sood, the USC scientist leading the study said Monday.

The state of our economy is not just a monetary risk, it is a health risk. When people lose their jobs, they typically lose their health insurance. The British Journal of Psychiatry found that there were more than 10,000 “economic suicides” as a result of the 2008 recession. Similarly, a 2016 study from The Lancet found that there were an excess 260,000 cancer deaths as a result of the recession. These statistics also fail to mention the increased domestic violence, increased child abuse and home loss when schools and businesses are closed.

A Better Rationale for Co-V Policy

Interview with Swedish epidemiologist Johan Giesecke. “Why Lockdowns are the Wrong Policy”

More will die from the gestapo lockdown policies than would die with measured social distancing combined with special protection for those at-risk. Far more — particularly children and the poor — will suffer from the long-term effects of the lockdowns. It is time to stop this “let them eat cake” mentality from ruining western nations.

Open the Country

The little Hitlers have forgotten what the lockdown was meant to achieve. They are enjoying it too much to let it go now.

The purpose of “Flatten the Curve” was to prevent the healthcare system from being overwhelmed with patients suffering from COVID-19. The reality is that the healthcare system is now underwhelmed and healthcare workers are being laid off and furloughed in droves as a result of healthcare centers having neglected patient care not related to COVID-19 in fear of a COVID-19 surge that failed to materialize on a nationwide basis. This means tens of millions of patients are failing to receive the medical care they need in a timely manner. Almost every hospital outside of the hotspots is empty.

New data supports the idea that SARS-CoV-2 is much more widespread than previously believed. Researchers have tried an indirect approach to approximate the prevalence of SARS-CoV-2 by comparing the incidence of excess influenza-like infections that are correlated to areas of COVID-19 infection. “This corresponds to at least 28 million presumed symptomatic SARS-CoV-2 patients across the U.S. during the three weeks from March 8 to March 28.” They go on to note, “[T]hese results suggest a conceptual model for the COVID-19 epidemic in the U.S. in which rapid spread across the U.S. is combined with a large population of infected patients with presumably mild-to-moderate clinical symptoms.” This is a dramatic change from earlier projections and drops the projected IFR down to around 0.1% — or basically the same as this year’s flu.

The USS Theodore Roosevelt has been in the news for an outbreak aboard the ship. The US Navy is testing every sailor on board. Of the 4,800 sailors, 600 tested positive and 60 percent of those were entirely asymptomatic. Much like the diamond princess, as time passes the fates of those onboard should give us a much better knowledge of the true risk of hospitalization, intensive care and death from the disease. However, unlike the Diamond Princess, this is a much younger group.

Seroprevalence studies suggest a mortality rate for CoV-19 close to 0.1%. That is within the range of seasonal influenza. These nazi governors, health agencies, and journalists who are thriving on the power they get from police-enforced lockdowns, are showing a dangerous disregard for the overall health of their jurisdictions and societies. They have become unhinged by this Chinese virus and the catastrophic disease models that have swarmed around it.

The health care system had already begun to separate intake and isolation facilities for the Wuhan Co-V related cases, from the ordinary intake facilities for routine health care needs. But suddenly, gestapo shutdowns began putting the entire health care system on the verge of economic failure. Stupid is as stupid does, and as Einstein suggested, there is no limit to human stupidity. Particularly in government, the media, and probably academia as well.

Remember:

  • go to work
  • stay away from crowds
  • maintain a 2 meter distance
  • wash your hands
  • wear a mask in public
  • don’t touch your face
  • don’t shake hands
  • keep public surfaces clean/disinfected
  • wear cotton gloves in public

In the grocery store:

  • Go shopping at a time that’s less busy. If you type in the store’s name and location in Google search, a box often will pop up showing when foot traffic there is highest.
  • Take germicide with you. Use it to wipe your hands and the cart before and after you shop.
  • Use a credit or debit card. That way, you don’t have to hand over bills or receive change. Also, use your own pen to sign receipts. If you can, use a virtual payment system like Apple Pay so that you don’t have to open your wallet at all.

For those who are worried that they cannot get some of those excellent Chinese PPE’s (that fall apart on being lightly touched), consider the exercise of your own ingenuity in making some yourself.
