Lockdowns are typically portrayed as prudent precautions against Covid-19, but they are surely the most risky experiment ever conducted on the public. From the start, researchers have warned that lockdowns could prove far deadlier than the coronavirus. People who lose their jobs or businesses are more prone to fatal drug overdoses and suicide, and evidence already exists that many more will die from cancer, heart disease, pneumonia, and tuberculosis and other diseases because the lockdown prevented their ailments from being diagnosed early and treated properly.
Sweden has been without lockdowns throughout the pandemic, and is one of the few locations to display signs of early herd immunity.
Lockdowns, more stringent in Democratic than Republican states, have produced higher unemployment and greater drops in state revenues. Keeping unionized public schools closed is driving parents to private schools, homeschooling, and improvised pods. __ Lockdowns are Hurting People
Instead of observing measures designed to slow the spread of the virus, the young and healthy should resume normal activity in order to incur herd immunity and thereby protect those vulnerable to severe illness.Source
According to the WHO, roughly 1 million people have died from the virus. Let’s put aside the fact that so many of those people died with the virus, not because of it and that a majority would have died within the year. Working with their official count [that 750 million people in the world have been infected], it would mean the implied infection fatality rate for the world, according to the WHO, is 0.13%.
Guess what else has a similar fatality rate? If you guessed the plain old flu, you won the jackpot. Here are the estimated fatality rates in the U.S. of the past decade worth of flu seasons based on CDC data.
Notice how the death rate for COVID-19 is in line with that of the seasonal flu.
In August, the president appointed Dr. Scott Atlas, a critic of lockdowns and our one-size-fits-all remedy to cure the virus; Atlas, 65, is a much-needed antidote to the attention-hungry, flip-flopping Anthony Fauci, who refuses to exit the media’s adoring spotlight or entertain any opposing viewpoint.
Is the Cure Worse Than the Disease?
The essential prerequisite of all good public health measures is that careful estimates should be made of their advantages and disadvantages, for both the individual and the community, and that they should be implemented only when there is a significant balance of advantage. In general, this ethic has been a sound basis for decision in most past situations in the developed world although, as we contemplate the control of milder diseases, quite different considerations such as the convenience or productivity of industry are being brought into these assessments. __ Source
Fewer than 10% of “COVID deaths” were caused exclusively by coronavirus infection. And of those who consistently test positive for Chinese coronavirus by PCR, only 10% are capable of spreading the infection to others.
As long as the elderly and those otherwise at particular risk are protected, other people should be allowed to go about their business without harassment or fear.
So why are journalists and politicians promoting panic? The US has long been an obstacle to left-wing globalist aims. President Trump personifies this obstruction to corrupt leftist crusades, and so in the eyes of leftist strategists he must be removed.
From the earliest days of this pandemic from Wuhan, left-wing strategists have sought to use it to damage the US President’s standing with American voters. Using their proxies in media and in national, state, and county governments, they have been largely successful in destroying jobs, closing schools, badly damaging routine healthcare around the nation, and otherwise putting American people at risk — largely in order to damage President Trump’s political standing.
It remains to be seen whether the American public will allow itself to be stampeded and bamboozled to its own detriment.
